We have two new additions to our family – meet Thelma and Louise.
I have to confess, I can’t tell them apart, so we often call them “Thelma or Louise” if there is just one doing something funny/crazy/silly/stupid – didn’t think that one through!
I have to say I was not expecting the intense emotion expressed by Harriet, Arabella and Moneypenny upon the arrival of Thelma and Louise. To say there was intense animosity would be an understatement.
Especially from Harriet who still hasn’t gotten over herself! If her appalling behaviour continues she will be separated from the others and sleeping in the laundry for a few nights!
Fortunately, nine days on, Arabella and Moneypenny are far more accepting of their new chicken sisters.
Let’s hope Harriett comes around soon too! She certainly is desperate to continue to rule the roost!
We had been warned chickens were very territorial and everyone was right! I’m very glad we listened to the advice and introduced two at once, as Thelma and Louise are very chummy with each other, and really look out for each other, as they cluck away in their funny chicken language.
They are becoming more accepted every day – and there are fewer black feathers floating around their run!
Do you have chickens? What happened when you introduced new girls to your flock? Did you have a Harriet??
